Step 1 — Sharing Your Story and Vision

The first step of your custom engagement ring consultation is to share your love story and the ideas you have for your engagement ring. You can share reference photos or talk about the type of jewelry that you like, along with any lifestyle factors you want to consider in your design.  

We’ll take on board the information you share and find ways to integrate it into your design. If you’re attending your virtual consultation without your partner, then it’s a good idea to bring some photos of the type of jewelry that they typically wear as a style reference. 

Step 2 — Exploring Design Options

After hearing about your story, our designer will start to suggest some design options. You can expect to see a range of our pre-designed engagement rings for inspiration. This stage of the consultation is also a chance to discuss different design elements, including band widths and settings. This stage of the consultation can help you to start visualizing your final ring and consider functional aspects of your design.

Step 3 — Material Selection

Even if your ring design is not fully complete, you’ll get an opportunity to discuss your different material options. At Valley Rose, we offer a range of lab-grown diamonds and responsibly sourced sapphires. 

You can use our gemstone finder to add any gemstone of your choice to your preferred pre-designed setting or custom engagement ring. We’ll also explain our range of fairmined gold and suggest which gold tone will best suit your design. 

Step 4 — Custom Sketches and CAD Designs

After your virtual consultation ends, we’ll start working on your preliminary sketches or CAD renderings to bring your design to life. You’ll be able to review the design, provide feedback, and work with us to refine the details to perfect the design. You can even opt for a 3D ring model to get a realistic preview of your ring before sending it into production.
