Our best selling ring features a radiant rustic design, a marquise cut cultured white opal and a slim prong setting. These white cultured eco-friendly opals are incredibly vivid giving off every color of the rainbow in sunlight. Every time I look at mine I loose myself in a new color or pattern.
To make this special ring I start with a wax model that is perfectly carved to the ring size and fitted to the opal stone. I then hand cast the ring in my studio using the lost wax casting method. Last steps involve finishing the surface of the ring adding a bright finish and then my favorite: setting the opal gem.
I think this ring is so special because it is a classic elongated shape that is flattering on everyone. The white opal pairs with every style, making it a perfect everyday ring but of course adding a little extra elegance to your style.
GILSON OPALS These cultured gemstones are chemically and almost visually the same as naturally created opal and offer a way smaller impact on the environment with no risk for human endangerment. Cultured opals also offer fewer flaws and way smaller carbon footprint than traditionally mined opals. Gilson opals are made by mimicking the process of nature, but instead of taking over millions of years, they can grow an opal in less than a 1 year. Read more on lab stones in this article.
